Teaching English as a volunteer will give you the opportunity to teach students who are eager to learn and improve their abilities in English. Students will also benefit from cultural exchange and different teaching techniques. Nepal is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. A large portion of the population lives below the poverty line and there is widespread unemployment. Donating your time as a volunteer English teacher in Nepal is a great way to spend your gap year, career break or extended vacation. Teaching Nepalese children is thoroughly enjoyable experience. Teach English volunteer program is open to everyone. No matter what you believe your skill level to be, you have something meaningful and helpful to offer. CSVFN provides a meaningful placement for anyone willing to volunteers to assist with teaching at preschool and primary levels, and believe that teaching skills required for volunteering for this program are a willingness to learn and an open mind. Volunteers often find songs and games useful in maintaining the children’s attention and in encouraging them to speak or sing in English. In some placements, volunteers not only teach English but also music and dance, crafts, cooking and the concept of playing. Students are between 4 to 14 years of age. English teaching volunteers do not have to be native English speakers. In Nepal, English is becoming more and more of a required skill for job placement, educational advancement and future success. As a volunteer English teacher you do not need to be native in English but you do need to have good knowledge of the language. It is not necessary any formal teaching qualifications. Each school has its own English teachers who assist our volunteers with teaching methods, offer advice on solving communication barriers and provide suitable curricula for the classroom.
There are many schools and institutions that educate children but they’re mostly expensive and unaffordable to the poor and orphan. Our volunteers in teaching English projects will work in schools attended by students of poor families in rural villages. You will teach students who are eager to learn from volunteers like you. You’ll converse with them to improve their speech, teach English according to official curriculum and use your own material or creative ideas to teach English in a different but fun way. This is also a perfect opportunity if you want to gain some teaching experience, serve the poor and help build your own career. Let’s join our teach English volunteer project.
