Generally, there are two types of polyandry customs. If one woman marries with total brothers of the same family at the same time, it is called fraternal polyandry. Such a way, if one woman marries more men whoever they are at the same time, it is called non fraternal polyandry. Fraternal polyandry custom is popular in Himalayan region of Nepal.
In the course of study, it is found that there are various reasons of existing polyandry custom in some villages of Himali region.
