Deaf Empowerment volunteer program is design to empower the deaf individuals of Nepal. It is necessary to bring up deaf issues for awareness, advocate their rights, rehabilitate their disabilities, sign language movement and achieve equalization. Most of the disabled individuals in Nepal are ignored, neglected and forced to live in dark rooms, because most of the family members of disabled individuals feel shame at having lost the prestige due to them in the community. As a result, they are dying in the same room or bed where they were born. Some of their families members may also make them beg on the streets. These people have not been able to use their rights. CSVFN offers interested volunteers from all over the world a chance to provide great support to the deaf children in Nepal. We are going to collect the data of deaf and update in our site with the appeal of help them for different way. CSVFN has been closely working with care facilities in and outside Kathmandu valley that have specialized in caring for these children.
The centuries old concepts, beliefs, poverty and backwardness that have mode deaf people to be more sufferer, have compelled them to live, all the time, at the mercy of hearing community, thereby, their rights have always been cursed and lived a life of nothing. The deaf people have identified the causes. One of the major causes of it is the situation created by the stat of no communication and language minority group was our findings with the Nepal Sign Language movement. Around this our activities concentrate. Our main focus is on and around the ‘deaf’ as a person, thereby, we face, instantly, the situation of non communication affecting their life, which is invisible handicapped.
The situation arising due to non communication is our concern which can be remedied, their sufferings can be removed and they can be fully brought in communication, strengthened and equalized. But with the few simple lines of words can not conclude it, there involved many factors that determine the process of and level of achievements for deaf, it is sign language as a medium of communication. We believe deaf education through sign language will be productive. For a better education and skill it is depend on level of quality of sign language. In Kathmandu to the deaf members, insist for their skill to explore. Skill training and education help them for their job placement. CSVFN invites all interested national and international volunteers to be part of our deaf uplift programs. Come with expertise and help deaf learn or come with no expertise and learn together. Your small effort can make a big difference to disable/ deaf. Therefore, we invite entire volunteers of the world to donate and contribute your effort in society; let’s join our Deaf empowerment volunteer project.
