Child Marriage research is a public awareness volunteer program design to eradicate the unbearable social crime child marriage. Jhagad only one caste who reside in Nepal, fall in marginalized and deprived class and origin of Drabid is Jhagad caste of Nepal. Main residence of this caste is east Terai of Nepal. They are found in small numbers in Parsa, Sarlahi, Siraha, Sunsari, Udaiyapur, Jhapa and Morang district. Nausaya Bigaha of Janakpur is the largest residence of Jhagad caste in Nepal. There are 60 to 65 families who reside there. Caste discrimination and colour provision have not totally eradicated in Nepal, they are behaved in the society by keeping in untouchable designation. Jhagad have their self language which is called Kurakhmundrari. Houses of this caste are made covering roof by dry grass, small and surrounding by Chitra, plastered by cow dung. There is kept wide casting ahead of the house. Their main profession is to sell by preparing granary and mat made by bamboo. As they have not enough land in their names, they have not sufficient food for whole year, so, they live by laboring in wage in the house of others. Jhagad caste that operates pig keeping profession, they are called as low caste in the Terai. Low caste or Jhagad caste that could not move out of ditch of discrimination has not representation in the Government service. Jhagad caste that back warded in education sector has self cultural recognition. Mostly persons of Jhagad caste are uneducated and there is social custom like child marriage in their society even now. Child marriage is unbearable social crime. It is extremely necessary to operate public awareness program for eradicating prevailing bad custom by providing basic education to the children and informal education to their family members of Jhagad community to eradicate social crime like child marriage. This organization has started to volunteer campaign by extending awareness program in the community to eradicate child marriage. The organization has been operating public awareness program in the society to provide education in the orphanage home by searing sponsor for their children. Anybody who is virtue of volunteer may serve voluntarily in the campaign of this child marriage eradication, social transformation and building of efficient society. Therefore, we invite entire volunteers of the world to donate and contribute your effort in society. Let’s join our child marriage research and eradication volunteer project.

Available Duration: 1 month / 12 weeks
Experience Required: It is not necessary any skills and qualification to volunteer in Child Marriage research. Upon your arrival you will receive relevant training towards the projects you are interested in. You should however have passion to help and contribute something in community. If you are flexible and patient, you’ll cope better during the project and successfully complete your project as working conditions. For Child Marriage research project volunteer may need physical efforts, so you should be in good health. We just ask our volunteers to be flexible, enthusiastic, be patient and an open mind. Child Marriage research program is open to worldwide participants, families, couples and individuals.
Project Location: Child Marriage research project placements are located in Chitwan, Bara, Rautahat, Parsa, Sarlahi, Siraha, Sunsari, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Jhapa, Sunsari and Morang District of Nepal to your interest and program availability. Most of the volunteer placements are located within 2-4 km. distance from their accommodation and volunteers use local transportation such as mini bus or taxis for their commuting.
Program start dates: Child Marriage research program starts on the 1st and 15th of each month, year round.

Program Requirements: Volunteers must be 16 years or older at the beginning of the program. Volunteers need to have an open mind and flexible attitude for working in a new and different environment. The volunteer should bring energy and enthusiasm to make a difference.
Arrangement of room/food/supervision: CSVFN will manage your accommodation, food and supervision while you work in Child Marriage research volunteer program. You will stay either with a host family, in a project hostel or in a home base. In the home base, you’ll share your room with other volunteers and use communal toilets. You’ll be served 3 meals a day. Meals in the home base can be local or continental. In the host family, you’ll have a room for yourself and will be served 3 local meals a day. Staying with a host family will provide you with a wonderful opportunity to experience Nepali lifestyle and live with a warm and welcoming family. You can even learn to cook Nepali food. While volunteering, our staffs will visit you every two weeks. During the visit, we will check on your progress and make sure you’re satisfied and happy.
Transportation: Volunteers are met at the Nepal International airport in Kathmandu, upon arrival into Nepal. Once you are in your placement you need to work out transport for any traveling you wish to do, whether this is simply to the local shops or further a field for sightseeing. Travel will usually be by local buses or simply walking. Any travel in this respect is at your own expense. Several projects are just walking distance.
