Terhathum District is a district of  Koshi Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Myalung, situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. Terhathum District is situated in the height of 345 meters to 2962 meters from sea level and its area is 679 square kilometers. Total population of Terhathum district is 101,577 according to census   2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are agriculture, jobs and business trade. Its agricultural land is 17771.4 hectare, there are 32 village development committees that are Chhatedhunga, Iwa, Hwaku, Khamlalung, Samdu, Pauthak. Shreejung, Moharang, Aeyokjung, Isibu, Sakrantibazar, Chuhandanda, Thoklung, Simle, Jaljale, Tamphula, Sawala. Aabung, Jirikhimti, Piple, Myanglung, Solma, Sungnam, Basantapur, Phulek, Dagpa, Sudap, Okhe, Aangdim, Hamarjung, Phakchamara, Panchakanyapokhari . There is a Myanglung Municipality in this district.  Main residents of this district are Limbu, Bramhin, Chhetri, Tamang, Kami etc.
