Sunsari District is a district of Koshi Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Inaruwa, situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 610 meters to 3669 meters from sea level and its area is 17039 square kilometers. Total population of Sunsari district is 763,487 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 35841.6 hectare, there are 48 village development committees that are Barahakshetra, Bishnupaduka, Panchakanya, Bharaul, Mahendranagar, Baklauri. Hansposa Pakali. Singiya, Bhadgaon sinwari, Prakashpur, Madhuban, Pashim kusuha, Laukahi, Shreepurjabdi, Haripur. Bhokraha. Dumraha, Madhesa, Ekamba, Chandbela, Madheli, Khanar, Sonapur, Duhabi, Aaurbani, Simariya, Tanmuna, Bhaluwa. Purba kusaha, Babiya , Saterjhoda, Jalapapur, Ramnagar bhutaha, Gautam, Nursing, Basantapur, Harinagar, Madhayaharsahi. Ghuski. Dewangunj, Kaptangunj, Rajgunjsinwari, Sahebgunj, Amahibela, Amaduwa, Chimadi , Chhitaha, Ramgunj chitaha. There is a Municipality in this district which is called Ilam Municipality. Main tourism heritages in this east hilly district are Bhedetar, Dantakali, Pindeshwar, Budha Subba, Panch Kanya, Bishnupaduka, Kosi Tappu, Akhanda Ram Dhuni and Baraha Kshetra. Main residents of this district are Limbu, Bramhin, Chhetri, Tamang, Rai etc.
