Sankhuwasabha District is a district of  Koshi Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Khadbari, situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 345 meters to 8470 meters from sea level and its area is 3480 square kilometers. Total population of Sankhuwasabha district is 158,742 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 23271.8 hectare, there are 33 village development committees that are Kimathanka, Chepuwa, Pawakhola, Hatiya, Makalu, Yaku, Tamphu, Bala, Sisuwa, Mangtewa, Pathibhara, Num, Barahabise, Savapokhari, Matseypokhari, Diding, Shitalpati, Dhupu, Syabun, Jaljala, Siddhapokhari, Wana, Chainpur, Siddhakali, Nundhaki, Mawadin, Madirambeni, Madimulkharka, Tamaphok, Akhibhuin, Kharang, Baneshwor, Mamling and  a Khadbari Municipality. Main residents of this district are Rai, Bramhin, Chhetri, Tamang etc. Main attraction of this district is world fifth highest peak Mt. Makalu 8463m, and world lowest valley Arun valley.
