Mechi Zone is a zone of Nepal which is named after the  River Mechi. Mechi Zone situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. Administrative headquarter of Mechi zone is Ilam. Total area of Mechi Zone is 8196 square K.M. Mechi Zone divided into four districts these are Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam and Jhapa. There are 145 Village Development Committees and 4 Municipalities in Mechi Zone.
