Ilam District Nepal
Ilam District is a district of Mechi Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is IlamBazaar, Located in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 610 meters to 3669 meters from sea level and covers 17039 square kilometers. Total population of Ilam district is 290,254 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are tourism, business trade, jobs and agriculture. Its agricultural land is 35841.6 hectare; there are 48 village development committees these are Mai majhuwa, Mabu , Jamuna, Jogmai Gorkhe, Pashupatinagar, Shreeantu. Samalbung, Jirmale, Maipokhari, Sulubung, Pyang, Nayabazar, Fikkal, Kanayam, Erautar, Puwamajuwa, Sakhejung. Sumbek, Barbote, Soyang, Namsaling, Panchakanaya, Godak, Kolbung, Shantipur, Laxmipur, Phakphok, Chamaita. Ektappa, Mangalbare, Shantidanda, Sangrumba, Soyak, Chisapani, Amchok, Dhuseni, Jitpur, Siddhithumka, Phuyetappa. Lumgde, Gajurmukhi, Ivang, Danabari, Mahamai, Banjho, Sakphara Chulachuli and a Municipality in this district that is Ilam Municipality. Main tourism heritages in this east hilly district are Maipokhari, Shreeantu, Sandakpur, Siddhithumka Gajurmukhi, Kanyam, Fikkarl, Sano Pathibhara and Tea Garden.  Main residents of this district are Limbu, Bramhin, Chhetri, Tamang, Rai etc.
