Dhanusha District is a district of Janakpur Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Janakpur, located in Central Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 61 meters to 610 meters from sea level and its area is 1180 square kilometers. Total population of Dhanusha district is 754,777 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 69928.1 hectare; there are 101 village development committees and a Janakpur Municipality.
