Dhankuta District is a district of  Koshi Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Dhankuta bazaar, situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 609 meters to 2438 meters from sea level and its area is 891 square kilometers. Total population of Dhankuta district is 163,412 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this are agriculture, jobs and business. Its agricultural land is 22155 hectare, there are 35 village development committees that are Chanuwa, Dandagaon, Marekkatahare. Leguwa, Arkhaule jitpur, Murtidhunga, Parewadin, Ghorlikharka, Sanne, Hatikharka, Bhirgaon, Tangkhuwa. Telia, Phalante , Pakhribas, Muga, Chungmang, Khoku, Aankhisalla, Belhara, Chhintang, Aahale, Mahabhara. Budhimorang, Phaksib, Bhadetar, Dandabazar, Khuwaphok, Rajarani, Bodhe, Kuruletenuppa, Maunabudhuk. Basantatar, Mudhebas, Chhanambar budhabare and a   Municipality.  Main residents of this district are Rai, Limbu, Bramhin, Chhetri, Magar etc.
